    Hi there,
I can’t figure out how to import a jpg file to one of my journal enteries. Please help.

    1. Stephanie says:

      Hello Laurence!

Getting an image to appear in an entry is a two step process. I’m not sure which step you’re having a problem on so I’ll review them both.

      1) Get the image into the Documents folder in the App:

      • In iTunes, select your device, and go to the Apps tab. At the bottom of the screen (you may have to scroll down) you will see a File Sharing section.
      • On the left-hand side, click the Wicca Plus icon. On the right hand side you will see it list the Wicca Plus Documents
      • Drag your JPG file into this area. It will then be copied into the app’s Documents folder on your device.

      2) Telling the app where to display your JPG within your entry:

      • When you are editing the entry, you will want to use a bit of html code to tell the app that you want to insert your image.
      • First thing to note is that iOS devices are Case Sensitive, so Picture.JPG and picture.jpg are two totally different things, as far as your device is concerned.
      • Second thing to note is you need to have the exact full name of the file, including the suffix.
      • When you have the exact name of the file, here is the bit of HTML to use to insert it into your entry:
        <img src=”MyExactFileName.jpg”>
      • While you are editing the entry you will see it as the html code, but when you are finished editing and just view the entry, you should see the image.

If you see an empty box where the image should be, but no picture, that means you got the HTML part right but the image name is wrong. If you don’t see the image and you don’t get an empty box, but instead see a bit of gibberish or text that looks like HTML (or if the entire entry looks ‘wrong’), then it means you got the HTML bit wrong.

If you follow these instructions and you still don’t get it to work, please don’t hesitate to get back to me and I’ll do what I can to help!

    Hi there,
Will there be support for the Southern Hemisphere in the near future? Thanks

    1. Stephanie says:

      Hello Ronald,

That’s a great question! I confess I don’t have any experience with practicing the craft in the Southern Hemisphere. Some of the differences are obvious of course, the equinoxes and solstices are swapped around. Are the greater sabbats also moved too – eg. would Samhain and Beltane trade places?

I would love to include support for the Southern Hemisphere but I’d want to do it correctly. If you’d like to give me some guidance or advice on what needs to be changed to best serve the Southern Hemisphere, that would be most appreciated.

Please feel free to email me directly at Stephanie (at) Felesmagus (dot) com.

        Hi Stephanie,

Just wondering if the Southern Hemisphere issue was ever followed up?
I’ve just downloaded the app and I know it would be a huge help to have all the celebratory dates in their correct order for those of us here Down Under!

I’d be happy to offer any assistance if required :)

        1. Stephanie says:

          Hello Lauren,

Yes! I’m just putting the finishing touches on version 2.1 and it includes support for the Southern Hemisphere.

I’m hoping to get it wrapped up and into the app store in the next week or so.

          1. Lauren says:

            Wonderful! Thanks Stephanie.

  3. Clovis says:

Hi, I unfortunately had to switch to an android and was wondering if there will ever be a way to get the Wiccan apps on my android. I really love your software and think you’re doing a great job. Thank you.

    1. Stephanie says:

Hello Clovis, thank you for your comments.

While I’m not ruling out an Android version, I cannot commit to producing an Android app at the moment. I don’t have any experience with Android, either as a user or a developer.

It is a request that has come up a few times however so it is something that I am considering.

      Thanks again & blessed be!

  4. Angelo says:

Is there a reason that you don’t have a print function?

    1. Stephanie says:

      Hello Angelo,

      Thank you for writing.

It has never occured to me that a print fuction was needed it, and nobody has requested it before! :)

Which app are you asking about?

I could add a print function in the next version.

      1. Angelo Dicerni says:

Sorry to take so long. I was refering to the Wicca Plus app for the print function.

        1. Stephanie says:

          Hello Angelo,

          Thanks for the follow-up!

I am looking into adding a print function to the app. There are standard print routines that Apple has created which I can use but I have to figure out about swapping / inverting the colour to black text on a white background; it would use too much toner / ink to output it as white on black the way it appears within the app.

  5. Amanda says:

I would love to edit the existing herb entries, as well as adding/moving/editing existing sections in the main menu. (For instance, adding a section for magical stones, and incense. Other entries I’d like to be able to edit would be the Sabbats-I’d love to keep the existing features regarding when the next upcoming Sabbat is, and full moon, but I’d like to be able to include the rituals I’ve written for each Sabbat in its respective section. Another feature I’d suggest would be automatically sorting new entries under the herbs heading in alphabetical order, rather than chronological. Would any of these functions be possible for updates in the future?

    1. Stephanie says:

Hello Manda, thank you for your comments & suggestions.

You cover quite a few topics, I’ll try and address each of them separately…

      1. Moving / re-organizing entries within the sections (whether alphabetically or just anywhere) is something I’ve got on my to-do list already. I know it’s less than ideal at the moment with new entries just appearing strictly in the order they are made (apart from the Journal area which by its nature is alphabetical only).

      2. Editing existing entries (whether herbs, sabbats, et cetera) is an option that I’ve agonized about back and forth since last May when I resumed work on the app. For now, the existing entries are not modifiable, but they are ‘deletable’.

So it’s possible to delete them and replace them with your own replacements. This would unfortunately ‘break’ the way the Sabbats section is sorted as that is tied to the existing entries… Let me think some more on this option. There are ways to resolve it, it’s just a question of figuring them out.

      3. Adding / moving /editing the main Table of Contents. This is one that I honestly never thought about. Sometimes when I have my ‘programming hat’ on, I get a bit of a narrow focus and miss some very obvious options. :) As with the above, I will have to put some thought into it. Unlike the previous two topics, this is one that I’ve never considered.

If I’ve missed anything please let me know. In terms of the next release, I can’t promise anything by way of due date or features, but as I said, the first item is already on my to-do list. I have made note of the second and third, and will put some thought into the best way to achieve them.

      Thanks again for writing, Manda!
