Question  3.0 in-App Settings
Hi,

First of all let me say that this is a great application, one that I feel the pagan community has been waiting for a long time, so thank you!

Now down to business as it were...
I have found that the in app setting do not save modifications made.
For example it is impossible to change the name of the God and Godess, when you exit and reopen WiccaPlus, the default settings are still there.

Blessed be

RE: 3.0 in-App Settings
Hello Tallawah Ka Bast,

Can you let me know what device you are using (eg. iPad, iPhone, and which generation) and which version of iOS you have at the moment?

Eg. I'm trying this on my iPad Retina Mini, running iOS 7.1.

As a test, I have just opened the in-app settings and changed the Goddess name from Isis to Aradia. I have tapped Done, then gone into Rituals and then the Opening Ritual, and when I scroll down to the consecrations of water and salt, I can see it has replaced Isis with Aradia.

I then closed the app, and then double-tapped the home key for the app switching screen. I swiped Wicca Plus up and off the screen, to ensure it was force-quit and removed from memory.

Then I re-opened it, went back into Rituals and Opening Ritual, and I can see it has still got Aradia in place of Isis. Finally I went back to the main screen and then into in-app settings, and I can see the name Aradia still appears for the Goddess Name.

Could you try a similar test and let me know what results you get?

Thank you!

RE: 3.0 in-App Settings
Hello Stephanie,

I am currently using an iPad 3rd generation (got it in 2012), iOS 7.1.1.

As instructed, I changed the name of the Goddess from Isis to Bast(et) via the in-app settings, however I do not have the option to modify the Opening Ritual.

I also updated my iOS to 7.1.2, but this had no effect, the modifications stay if I make changes using the iPad settings button outside WiccaPlus.

Help! Sad

RE: 3.0 in-App Settings
I have an iPad 3 which I just tested on. It's running iOS 8 as I have it set up for testing things against the beta, but I'm still not seeing the same problem that you are.

On my iPad mini, I have iOS 7.1.2 and I've just done a fresh re-install to make sure all the settings are back to default. Here are the steps I am doing:
  • I tap the gear in the top left corner to open the App Settings screen.
  • I tap the Goddess Name field to edit it.
  • I remove Isis and enter Bastet, then hit the return key.
  • I tap the Done button at the top left corner of App Settings.
  • To verify that it worked, I go to Rituals, then Opening Ritual, and scroll down to see the text where the Salt and Water is being prepared.
  • I can see it says in the names of Cernunos and Bastet.

If you follow all those steps in that order, what do you see in the text?

Hello again Stephanie,

I followed your instructions to the letter and it worked! It was the fact that I failed to press the Return key that was the problem. Big Grin

Thank you for all your help

Aha! I'm glad you got it figured out!

Yeah until you hit Return, the setting doesn't update... I'll see if that's something I can fix for next time.

Blessed be.

Just a quick follow-up on this -- I have modified the code so on the next update, it won't be picky about hitting the return key.

Cheers!
