Goofy Childhood Toys and Games!
Greetings,

Let's not forget our childhood sense of wonder and fun!

Post photos or descriptions of toys, boardgames, video games and crafts from your childhood here. Does not have to be witch/magic/magick related.

Have fun. The Gods and Goddesses say so!

Here's a classic board game from my childhood.

The players move their pawns through the witch house, try not to be trapped or eaten by rats and make it safely to the "charmed circle."

Awesome!

I love it. I've never seen that before but I like the idea of racing to the 'charmed circle' to win hehe.

Here's another one...very weird!

It's like a super-ouija board on steroids. I remember seeing the older kids playing this - the giant eyeball in the middle moves with the marble as it rides around on the board. All of this movement is caused by the players putting pressure on the board edge. The board has a spike underneath to keep it unstable. So, it's almost like a pendulum as well! And, during the game you actually collect tarot cards!

Whoa.

Here's a link if you want more info! http://www.museumoftalkingboards.com/kabala.html

It comes with a comic!

That's kind of equal parts fantastic and frightening!

Kabala indeed hehe.

Is the marble 'attached' to the part with the eye or does the marble roll freely? My first thought when seeing the picture was haunted roulette... silliness.

The Mystic Eye Game!
Greetings,

Here is another one I found tonight. It's an honest-to-Goddess pendulum fortune telling game! From 1953 by a company called Mister B Industries.

Here's what the website Cult of the Weird said about this game...

Quote:...Claims to be a powerful oracle and party game good for psychoanalysis, lie detecting, locating lost items and determining the sex of your unborn child.

Mystic Eye uses a “psycho-activated” pendulum and master chart to tap into the conscious, subconscious and super-conscious mind to divine the unknown. Unlike the Kreskin’s ESP game we came across a few months back, this copy of Mystic Eye is complete, including the instructions and the pendulum.

It was difficult not to unravel the mysteries of life, love and the occult with the one of the self-proclaimed “psychological wonders of the world” at our fingertips, so we made sure it is in working condition. But does it really pierce the veil and peer into the future? You will have to find out for yourself.

This game is way before my time. However, I had a very imaginative childhood friend who always wanted to have seances, tell the future using a pendulum. Even back then, I was Mr. Skeptic. But I remember using a pendulum back-in-the-day...perhaps we saw our parents playing this game?

Interesting what was considered "entertainment" then!

Oh yes! It was a great game. Always popular. I understand a company re- released it in 1997. I need to find one of those! Ebay perhaps...

Lightning Bug Glow Juice - safe non toxic says on the bottle

This stuff still glows on the bedroom wall (from about 1970.)

It worked so well I don't know why it was taken off the market.

I wonder if it contained radium?
